Safeguarding Overview
At Bugbrooke Medical Practice, we are committed to protecting the safety and wellbeing of all our patients- both adults and children. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we ensure that our team is trained and supported to recognise and respond appropriately to any concerns about abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
Our Commitment
-
We promote the welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
-
We take all safeguarding concerns seriously and act promptly to protect individuals from harm.
-
We work closely with local safeguarding partners and follow national and local safeguarding procedures.
-
All staff receive regular safeguarding training in line with NHS and local authority requirements.
Safeguarding Adults
A vulnerable adult is anyone aged 18 or over who may be unable to protect themselves from abuse or neglect due to illness, disability, or other circumstances.
Abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, sexual, discriminatory, or neglect.
If we suspect that an adult is at risk of harm, we will act to ensure their safety and wellbeing, following the principles of consent, confidentiality, and protection from significant harm.
Safeguarding Children
We have a duty to protect children and young people (under 18) from harm, abuse, or neglect.
Our team works in partnership with families and other agencies to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns as early as possible.
Where there is a risk of harm, we will share information with appropriate authorities to ensure the safety of the child.
