They offer treatment room services for minor injuries, blood tests, minor surgery, dressings, cervical smears, travel immunisations, ECGs and blood pressure checks. Some are specialist nurses in chronic disease management areas such as asthma, diabetes, coronary heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), teenage health and contraceptive services.

Receptionists

Our reception team assist patients with their enquiries and requests, on the telephone and at the reception desk.

Dispensers

Our dispensing team dispense medication prescribed by the doctors. They are here to help you when collecting your medication.

Clinical pharmacist

We have a team of Clinical Pharmacists to help with our medication management, offer medication reviews and to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your medications.

Physiotherapists

We have three Physiotherapists who can assess and offer advice on managing many conditions concerning skeletal systems, muscle injuries and many other issues.

Nutritionist

We have a nutritionist who can help you with your diet for weight control and suggestions for healthy eating to manage some conditions.

Administrative and secretarial staff

Our administrative staff are here to help you. They deal with repeat prescriptions, referrals to specialists, information management, statistics and private medical work.

Social Prescriber

Our Social Prescriber plays a crucial role in supporting patients by connecting them with non-medical services and community resources to improve their overall well-being. They help individuals access activities like exercise groups, art classes, and volunteer opportunities, as well as services for housing, benefits advice, and mental health support.

Age Well

The Ageing Well team provides a short-term service tailored to individuals aged 65 and over with a frailty score between 3-6. Their primary goal is to assist older individuals in maintaining their independence for as long as possible. We achieve this by offering comprehensive support and signposting to various services, alleviating the pressure on both individuals and their caregivers. Their approach is holistic, addressing not just immediate needs but also long-term well-being. Email – northantsicb.agewell@nhs.net.

Community Nursing Team

The community nursing team visit housebound patients to provide nursing care in their own homes. They work with us and other healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and care managers, to assess needs and draw up individual care packages.
